Speech and Debate

I have been competing in speech and debate since 9th grade and am now the head captain of my big questions debate team and my humorous interpretation speech team. I’ve consistently placed within the top 6 in my event at tournaments, and have won multiple state finalist trophies, including one state championship trophy. I am also ranked #1 nationwide in big questions debate. Throughout this journey, I’ve amassed a great deal of knowledge and skills that I apply to real situations daily. I’ve learned how to clearly and effectively get a point across when speaking, I’ve learned critical thinking and argumentation skills, proper research methods, charisma, and much more. These skills are useful in the real world, whether that means working in a team, fact checking any research, or just networking.
